FOSSiBOT DT1 Rugged Tablet Unboxing: 10.4”2K Display with 48MP Camera

FOSSiBOT announced that their rugged tablet DT1 will start its world premiere from June 12th to 18th. This week, FOSSiBOT published more information about it, that is, its unboxing video and more details of its specs. The DT1 rugged tablet complies to military stand of MIL-STD-810H, IP68/IP69K waterproof, dust-proof and 1.5m drop-resistance. If you love to watch movies or listening to music while taking a shower or batch, or work in dusty/humid environment, DT1 rugged tablet is a good choice.

10.4 inch 2K Display, Anti-scratch and Drop-resistance

FOSSiBOT DT1 adopted a 3:5 aspect ratio 10.4 inch incell display with a resolution of 1200*2000. The 2K display also gains up to 94% screen-to-body ratio, all this offers better visual experience in photos, video playing and games. For better anti-scratch and drop-resistance, the DT1 uses Dragontrail glass from Asahi. From the first video published by FOSSiBOT, we can see that its screen is quite durable and tough for harsh environment use, no worry about sudden drop any more.

Hardware & Software Specifications, High Performance with 212670 Antutu Scores

FOSSiBOT DT1 tablet carries MediaTek MT8788 2.0GHz octa-core processor, 8GB RAM+256GB ROM. DT1 opened a route for users to gain up to 16GB RAM by turning on RAM expansion in settings. According to test, the antutu score of DT1 is 212670. Among rugged tablets, the spec is relatively good in performance. Playing games on DT1 is expected to be smooth and fluent.

Battery life is another highlight feature for the DT1 rugged tablet. It has a built-in 11000mAh battery, offering up to 816 hours standby with SIM card inserted, 50 hours calling time with screen off. This is quite enough for engineers who work long time at construction sites, or for those who travel frequently. Even if they don't have a power bank with them, they don't have to worry about battery life. DT1 can also work as a power bank for emergency recharging.

48MP +16MP Cameras

As the first rugged tablet that takes 48MP rear camera, FOSSiBOT has put a lot of effort in camera optimization. The rear camera adopts Samsung S5KGM2SP03 48MP main lens, supporting 5P optical dimension, f2.2 aperture and PDAF focus. The Samsung S5K3P3SP 16MP selfie camera is located in the top middle of the front, you will be located in middle while taking selfies. Both of the front and rear camera only support picture and video mode, no complicated modes. Users no longer have to worry about what mode to choose to take pictures.

According to the pictures which the DT1 tablet took, no matter in good light condition, or dark night, the camera performance is quite good. No matter outside or inside room under normal light, the details taken are quite clear inside room. For night shooting, no serious exposure problems, light balance is optimized quite good.

Sturdy and Durable Body

FOSSiBOT also put some basic tests for its waterproof, dust-proof and drop-resistance for DT1 in the video to prove its military stand toughness. The back cover is made of TPU material and adopted two-color mold injection process, the framework used aviation aluminum alloy and touch screen with tough Dragontrail glass. On both sides of the back cover where hands will contact, DT1 uses a diamond pattern design, non-slip while using, and quite stylish in appearance. FOSSiBOT DT1 is a military standard MIL-STD-810H, IP68 water resistance, dustproof and 1.5m drop resistance. Sturdy and durable is its essence.

Many users may have a solid state of mind and feel that they have to sacrifice its performance and camera when they choose a rugged tablet. But this DT1 tablet is a surprise, the performance in all aspects is the quite good among medium level tablets.
